Bikaner’s Khara sees AQI of 900, residents blame POP factory
Bikaner: The air quality in the Khara area has deteriorated significantly, with the AQI soaring to 900, making it the most polluted region in the state. Smoke emissions from POP (Plaster of Paris) factories have severely impacted the environment, contributing to the alarming rise in air pollution levels.
This has led to an increase in respiratory illnesses among residents, affecting people of all age groups, from children to the elderly. The 40 factories operating in Khara are being considered as primary source of pollution.
Residents have expressed growing anger towards the local administration for failing to address the issue. Thick smog has reduced visibility in the area. Recently, the Divisional Commissioner held a meeting to discuss the worsening situation, but tangible solutions remain elusive.
