Bihar: "BJP was conspiring for power," alleges RJD leader Shakti Singh Yadav
Patna: Amid mega political twist in Bihar, RJD Spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav claimed that the Bhartiya Janata Party was already plotting to seize control in the state and eyeing power.
Over the rift in the Mahagathbandhan, RJD leader Shakti Singh Yadav said "for an alliance to work, everyone needs to agree, and it can't be driven solely by one person's wishes".
He further claimed that the BJP was already eyeing power in the state, which is one of the major reasons for the political turbulence in the state.
"In line with its traits, the BJP started taking interest in Bihar politics. It was drooling for power in the state and started conspiring for it", he said.
"When the resignation (of Nitish Kumar) will take place, things will come out in the open," he added.
"We are the biggest party in Bihar. We are alert and are tracking the developments closely. We are seized of the shifting political sands in Bihar. We will not take a step back when it comes to discharging our responsibilities. We cannot leave Bihar in the hands of 'Jungle Raj'. If this government is to fall, I pray to the almighty that it happens today," the BJP national spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) national president Nitish Kumar arrived at the Raj Bhavan in Patna and handed over his resignation to Governor Rajendra Arlekar on Sunday.
The development comes amid a deafening buzz that Nitish would rejoin the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), bringing an end to the 'Mahagathbandhan' rule in the state.
With this, it is now the fourth time that Nitish Kumar has switched sides.
