Tiger kills man in R’bore: Family to get Rs 15 lakh
Sawai Madhopur: After shepherd Bharatlal Meena from Uliana died after being attacked by a tiger in the area adjacent to Ranthambore forest, villagers have been protesting since Sunday demanding compensation and have kept the body of the deceased.
BJP leader Kirodi Lal Meena talked to the villagers and officials at the demonstration site. The family of the deceased will get a compensation of about Rs 15 lakh. Meena will give Rs 5 lakh, Rs 5 lakh from the forest department and another Rs 5 lakh from the CSR fund. Besides, one family member will get the job of a nature guide.
A proposal for permanent job, compensation of Rs 50 lakh and 5 bighas of land will be sent to the state govt. After complaints of forest personnel, a consensus was also reached on their removal. The government was made aware of the discriminatory working style of local forest officials. District Council CEO Hariram Meena, ASP Ramkumar Kaswan, SDM Anoop Singh and DSP Uday Singh Meena were also present.
