Rajasthan’s spectacular 66% increase in tourists
Jaipur: The ‘Desert State’ becomes synonymous with tourism. Shattering all earlier records, the state witnessed more than 18 crore tourists in a single calendar year in 2023.
With this record number of visitors the Rajasthan tourism made its mark in the country as well as across the globe. Earlier, the number of tourists year 2022 was 10.87 crores. More than 7.13 crore tourists increased in just one year, with is a 66 percent jump. Last year 17.90 crore domestic and 16.99 lakh foreign tourists visited Rajasthan, which incorporated 65 percent increase in arrival of indigenous tourists, 328 percent increase in foreign tourists. Rajasthan once again included in the top 3 tourism states in the country.
The travel and tourism trade got back on track in terms of lost revenue due to Corona period. At present, the command of tourism is in the hands of Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari. Under her leadership, a target of 20 crore tourists in the year 2024 has been set.
