Medical professionals must advocate for good health: V-P
Jodhpur: Vice- President Jagdeep Dhankhar, addressing the 64th convocation of the National Academy of Medical Sciences at AIIMS Jodhpur, said, “Medical professionals serve as guardians, and the role is all the more significant in Bharat, home to one-sixth of humanity. Your concern must be beyond clinical care. You have to engage in advocacy of good health and become educators and public health advocates.”
He also pointed out the challenges in healthcare, stating that commercialisation and ethical dilution need to be addressed. “Healthcare is a divine contribution & service, & it must be far distant from commerce. Healthcare is antithetical to exploitation,” he said, adding, “A healthy society is essential to achieving ‘Viksit Bharat by 2047.”
