4 jawans shot dead in sleep
Bathinda: Four soldiers were killed in an incident of firing inside Bathinda military station in Punjab on Wednesday at around 4.35 am. They belonged to an artillery unit of the army. The area has been sealed off and quick response teams are conducting a search, the Army’s South Western Command has said. Police sources have said that there is no terror angle in the incident.
The gates of the Bathinda Military Station were closed following a firing incident.
Bathinda SP Ajay Gandhi, who is heading a police team probing incident, said 2 Army officers went inside the barracks and found Sagar Banne (25) and Yogesh Kumar J (24) in a pool of blood. In another room, bodies of Santosh M Nagaral (25) and Kamalesh R (24), were found. 2 jawans hailed from Karnataka, other two from Tamil Nadu.
