Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Hiraba Modi, 100, passed away at UN Mehta Heart Hospital in Ahmedabad on Friday. A glorious century rests at the feet of God, Modi said while informing about her demise. Modi who reached Gujarat this morning first paid tribute to her at her Raysan residence in Gandhinagar and then carried the bier with the mortal remains to the crematorium for the last rites. “We thank everyone for their prayers in these tough times. It is our humble request to everyone to keep departed soul in their thoughts and continue with their pre-decided schedule and commitments. That would be a befitting tribute to Hiraba,” family sources said. She was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday due to some health issues. The hospital authorities on Thursday had said that her condition was improving.
