BRACING FOR A WILD RIDE!
Ahmedabad/Mumbai/New Delhi: Cyclone Biparjoy, which intensified into an extremely severe cyclonic storm on Sunday, is currently about 500-600 km away from Mumbai coast and about 380 kilometres south south-west of Devbhumi Dwarka in Gujarat, the IMD report said on Monday.
Currently over eastcentral Arabian Sea, Biparjoy moved northwards with a speed of 7 kmph till Monday evening. The effects of Biparjoy were evident as strong winds and high tidal waves were witnessed on Gujarat coast and in Mumbai. “It is very likely to move nearly northward till tomorrow morning, then move north-NEwards and cross Saurashtra and Kutch and adjoining Pakistan coasts between Mandvi and Karachi near Jakhau Port by June 15 as severe cyclonic storm with max sustained wind speed of 125-135 kmph gusting to 150 kph,” IMD said.
