Why didn't Suniel Shetty want Ahan and Athiya to attend Indian schools?

Suniel Shetty has a distinguished career and is responsible for several successful initiatives. However, the actor had to go through several hardships to achieve his success. His children were the ones that motivated him to sacrifice blood, sweat, and tears in order to succeed in life. Suniel Shetty recently discussed his decision to not enrol his children at an Indian school in an interview.

The actor claimed that his father had also warned him that enrolling them in American schools would be "very expensive" and that he knew he would have to work hard to make that happen. He also discussed how his daughter Athiya decided to work in movies even after being accepted to college in Atlanta.

Suniel Shetty made his acting debut in 1992 with Balwaan, but it wasn't until the 1994 box office triumph of Mohra and Gopi Kishan that he rose to popularity. His most recent appearance was in the OTT launch of Hunter Tootega Nahi Todega on Amazon Mini TV.

In an open discussion with Nikhil Kamath, Suniel Shetty reflected on the hardship of his early years in the business, when movie critics panned his productions. The actor claimed that it affected both him and his family. Additionally, he stated that he wanted his children to grow up normally, without receiving any special care.

His kids Athiya Shetty and Ahan Shetty also entered the film business, much like their father. Suniel said that he never 'nudged' his children towards behaving when speaking about them.

He told Nikhil Kamath, “It’s their decision. We went to Atlanta for Athiya, she saw the college, everything was done, loved it, and got admission. On our way back, she told me at the airport ‘You know papa, I am not happy doing this.’ I asked ‘What do you want to do?’ She said ‘I want to be in the business of films and entertainment. I said ‘Baby, it’s a lovely place, but will you be able to accept failure?’ because that is very stressful. That Friday kills me every time and it’s the anxiety that kills me, and nothing else.”

Athiya and Ahan, who both made their Bollywood debuts with Hero and Tadap, were born into Suniel Shetty and Mana Shetty's union on December 25, 1991.
