Vidhu Vinod Chopra is all set to celebrate the success of ‘12th Fail’ with the actual UPSC students

Director – writer Vidhu Vinod Chopra is all set to celebrate the continuing triumph of his masterpiece "12th Fail" with the real UPSC students enrolled in Drishti IAS. All these students played themselves in the film which ensured such a natural looking, crowded environment of  Mukherjee Nagar. These real life students made the film look extremely authentic and naturalistic, which has been one of the most important and lauded aspects of the film.

12th Fail is now seen as a collective win for the nation as a whole. To make this an unforgettable occasion, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Vikrant Massey will be present at an event being organised in New Delhi as an evening devoted to the students, commemorating each one’s contribution and acknowledging the important part that they played in the film.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra expresses, “The 18th of May will be a memorable day for me, because on this day, I get to thank the team who made 12th Fail as real as it does. I cannot tell you how many people noticed the background in Mukherjee Nagar and asked me from where did we get such authentic-looking background actors. It’s because they are not actors! They are real students and staff of Drishti! I want to thank each one of them, and in particular, Vikas Divyakirti, and his team, Abhishek and Gaurav, for getting them all together and helping us make this film. Not once did any of them ever look into the camera and disturb the shot. They were always on time, 5 am or 5 pm. They were thoroughly professional. As professional as my own crew. I am deeply grateful to them”, said Vidhu Vinod Chopra

The evening is also devoted to the unsung individuals who provided support to the production team in organising logistics and obtaining approvals for the filming.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra is truly a visionary who is currently working on the making of his much anticipated ‘Zero Se Restart’.
