Short Film 'Pralhad’ Produced by Finolex creates a sensation on YouTube

It is often said that the type of content one consumes affects their behaviour. Therefore, one always ought to watch or read stuff that encourages them rather than discouraging and they prefer content that inspires them to take action for good. Similarly, for ages films have been used to reach a wide range of audiences with the motive of informing or uplifting about history, society and much more. Some films also help in uniting people and giving them a sense of shared responsibility which ultimately helps foster a positive change. Studies even show that the influence created by films affects people’s beliefs and opinions. To do so there has been a plethora of films released. One such short film is 'Pralhad' produced by Schbang Motion Pictures and Finolex Industries.

The short film Pralhad is based on the life of Finolex founder Late Shri Pralhad P. Chhabria. The events showcased in the film are based on the book ‘There's No Such Thing as a Self-Made Man’ which is  Late Shri Pralhad P. Chhabria's autobiography.  It was released on Humara Movie’s YouTube channel on September 1, 2022. Ritvik Sahore played the role of the protagonist i.e  Late Shri Pralhad P. Chhabria and the other actors included Aabid Shamim, Chinamay Das, and Annapurna Soni. Until now the movie has already won 22  honours at international and Indian film festivals, including the Prague International Film Festival, Moscow International Film Festival, and London Film and Television Festival.

The movie tells the saga of a young boy who, after the death of his father, was forced to leave his hometown Amritsar just in his teenage years. The young man who later established Finolex Industries, one of India's largest corporations, left his house with just INR 10 in his pocket. While travelling young Pralhad notices how each of the other travellers is somewhat similar to him. The film takes viewers through the challenges that the Late Shri Pralhad P. Chhabria encountered both during and after his journey to Mumbai.

One of the main reasons Finolex Industry and Schbang Motion Pictures chose to make the movie was to give individuals, especially aspiring entrepreneurs some optimism. They wanted ‘Pralhad’ to convey the idea that failing and starting over again are both perfectly fine. One should never stop making efforts and working toward their goal, no matter what may happen. With barely INR 10 at the beginning of his journey, the late Shri Pralhad P. Chhabria worked hard to build a business that is now worth 10,000 crores. Others can succeed if he did, just constant devotion is required. Another important lesson is how Late Shri Pralhad P. Chhabria always conducted himself with dignity, decency, and humanity throughout his journey. Even after reaching tremendous heights, he never forgot where he belonged, which is why he continued to hold a precious place in people's hearts even after his demise.

Finolex Industry has received great praise for its contributions to the growth of the nation as a whole and to the agricultural industry since 1981. By providing high-quality PVC pipes and fittings, they have been able to assist consumers in both rural and urban areas. In addition to being a successful industrialist, the late Shri Pralhad P. Chhabria was also a well-known philanthropist. He founded the Hope Foundation & Research Center and the Mukul Madhav Foundation, these organisations assist people by offering access to healthcare, education, and social welfare for the less privileged.

Additionally, he founded the Mukul Madhav Vidyalaya in Ratnagiri. Along with the engineering colleges that are the International Institute of Information Technology in Hinjawadi, Pune, Maharashtra and  Finolex Academy of Management and Technology in Ratnagiri. Presently, Finolex Group has been giving back to society in whatever manner they can because they take their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) efforts seriously and aim on continuing the late Shri Pralhad P. Chhabria's legacy.
