Sameer Salmani talks about his salon in Bandra

Sameer Salmani, who runs his salon in the heart of Mumbai i.e Bandra, known as Sameer Salmani the artist - Salon & Academy, says that his father inspired him to set foot in this business. In his journey of 17 years he has grown a lot and come a long way from where he began, but what needs to be admired is his dedication and attitude of learning and growing more and more.

“I'm the third generation of our family in this profession. I belong to a barber background from the small town of Moradabad. My father used to run a barber shop in our home town and he inspired me. Soon, I realized I need to excel in this field and take it to a whole new level so I decided to be a professional hairstylist,” he says.

He adds, “I have done multiple courses national and international. I opened my salon in 2020 on the 4th of Feb. I wish to open at least three more branches in Mumbai and in other cities of India.”

Talking about how he entered this industry professionally, Sameer says, “Well, as I mentioned about my father, he was my first mentor. When I came to Mumbai, I met someone who was a professional stylist. He became my mentor and he changed my life completely. His name is Mohd. Asif Salmani is not only my mentor but like my elder brother. Now, he has moved to London.”

Sameer's salon is very popular among many celebrities such as Charul Malik, Parul Chaudhary, Jasleen Matharu, Rohit Bakshi, Vishal Kotian, Elnaaz Norouzi, Salman Ali among others.  He has many well-known clients namely Jenifer Piccinato, Madirakshi Mundle, Manish Raisinghan and his wife Sangieta Chauhan, Scarlett Wilson, Bhumika Gurung, Redheima Tiwari, Director and producer Bejoy Nambiar, playback singer Ankush Bhardwaj who visits here on a regular basis.
