Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh lose Twitter blue ticks
On Thursday, Twitter removed legacy verified blue ticks from all accounts that don’t pay a monthly fee to keep them. Many eminent leaders and Bollywood celebrities including megastar Amitabh Bachchan, superstar Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, comedian Vir Das, Ravi Kishan, Nargis Fakhri among others to cricketers like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, have lost their verified blue ticks from their official Twitter accounts. Many stars have reacted to losing the blue tick.
Those individuals who are now paying for Twitter Blue, which costs USD 8/month via the web and USD 11/month through in-app payment on iOS and Android, will have the privilege of verified blue checkmarks. Other big names who lost their blue ticks include Beyoncé, Pope Francis, Oprah Winfrey and former US President Donald Trump.
Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, who is very active on Twitter, was one of the thousands to lose the blue tick. In a rather humorous post, he wrote, "Aye Twitter bhaiya! Sun rahe hain? Ab to paisa bhee bhar diye hain ham. Toh u jo neel kamal hot hai na, hamaar naam ke aage, u to vaapas lagaay den bhaiya, taaki log jaan jaayen kee ham hee hain - amitabh bachhchhan Haath to jod liye rahe ham. Ab ka, godava jode padee ka?? (sic)."
Prakash Raj tweeted, “Bye bye #BlueTick It was nice having you, my journey, my conversations, my sharing, will continue with my people, you take care #justasking (sic).”
Shahid reposted a meme and added his famous dialogue from the same scene of Kabir Singh where he comes running after someone who touches his girlfriend, played by Kiara Advani. Shahid wrote, “Mere blue tick ko kisne touch kiya… Elon, tu wahi ruk main aaraha hu. Haha (who has dared to touch my blue tick?… Elon Musk I am coming for you).” His tweet left fans in splits.
