Renowned Peace Activist Dr Ahmed Haque attends National Opposition INDIA block's conclave
On September 1, Friday morning, the National Opposition INDIA block witnessed a historic meeting as its senior leaders gathered for a group portrait before the start of their much awaited conference. One person stood out in particular during this show of solidarity and power: Dr. Ahmed Haque, a well-known figure and peace worker who was instrumental in encouraging fruitful conversations amongst the leaders.
At the third INDIA meeting, representatives from about 28 groups gathered and stood close to one another. Despite the seriousness of the situation, many people were nevertheless able to grin, signifying their mutual dedication to the Opposition's cause.
Sonia Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, Nationalist Congress Party Working President Supriya Sule, All India Trinamool Congress President and Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee, and PDP President and former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti were among the prominent women leaders in this iconic group photo.
Shiv Sena (UBT) President and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, who was hosting the conclave, stood in the middle of the group of politicians and exuded friendliness and goodwill. The thunderous words "Judega Bharat, Jeetega INDIA" were repeated in the background.
Notably, two of the most senior officials there, NCP President Sharad Pawar, 83, and Farooq Abdullah, 85, leader of the National Conference and a former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, stood straight in a sign of unshakable dedication. Farooq Abdullah, who had a radiant smile as he arrived at the ceremony in a wheelchair, eventually stood with the aid of a hand staff for the picture opportunity.
The INDIA leaders gathered inside the auditorium for a thorough brainstorming session that lasted all morning and into the afternoon following the historic picture shoot. The Maharashtra and Mumbai Congress arranged a luncheon to wrap up the day's events, which strengthened the leaders' ties to one another and their ability to work together.

During the event, Dr. Ahmed Haque actively conversed about the issue of peace with the top leaders. He had the opportunity to meet Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, Nitish Kumar, the leader of the NCP, Sharad Pawar, the former home minister of Maharashtra, Anil Deshmukh, senior Congressman Balasaheb Thorat, member of parliament Misa Bharti, and Farooq Abdullah, the former ruler of Jammu and Kashmir. Dr. Haque also asked about Farooq Abdullah's health and met his son, Omar Abdullah, a prominent member of parliament.
