Priyanka Chopra RECALLS how she was mistreated by a director during a shoot
Priyanka Chopra Jonas, a desi girl from Bollywood, has recently been making news for her stunning remarks regarding the working environment in Hindi films. She admitted in March that she was sick of Bollywood's politics and claimed that she had been forced out of the business as a result. Priyanka just revealed yet another shocking detail in a new interview while discussing how a filmmaker previously treated her badly. The actress revealed a time when a film's director demanded to see her ''underwear'' as they were filming a stripping scene.
The actress reportedly told Zoe Report that she left a movie where she was scheduled to play an undercover because she felt embarrassed. As Priyanka stated,
“This may have been 2002 or ’03… I’m undercover, I’m seducing the guy - obviously that’s what girls do when they’re undercover. But I’m seducing the guy and you have to take off one piece of clothing (at a time). I wanted to layer up. The filmmaker was like, No, I need to see her underwear. Otherwise why is anybody coming to watch this movie?” She added, “He didn’t say it to me. He said it to the stylist in front of me. It was such a dehumanizing moment. It was a feeling of, I’m nothing else outside of how I can be used, my art is not important, what I contribute is not important.. “I just couldn’t look at him every day.”
The actor, 40, declined to participate in this production. In an earlier episode of her interview on Dax Shepard's podcast Armchair Expert, Chopra discussed the reasons for her decision to look for a job in the entertainment industry. The Baywatch star said she was fed up with the politics in the business and had issues when directors stopped hiring her.
The actress most recently appeared with Sam Heughan in the romantic comedy 'Love Again.' The movie came out on May 5. Idris Elba and John Cena are co-stars in PeeCee's upcoming film, 'Heads Of State,' which was unveiled last month. She also has the upcoming Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt movie 'Jee Le Zaraa' directed by Farhan Akhtar.
