‘Mishri' star Megha Chakraborty: 'I hope Vaani’s character becomes a role model for women out there’
In the world of daily soaps, where family drama dominates, COLORS’ newly launched ‘Mishri’ brings a fresh and sweet perspective, changing the portrayal of women in TV shows. Megha Chakraborty, who plays the role of Vaani, has captivated audiences with her compelling performance. In the storyline, Vaani portrays a strong, independent woman and a determined fashion designer who aims to build a successful career, while successfully managing her personal life. As Vaani, Megha plays a new-age, strong woman who brings to life a character that resonates with today's generation. In a recent conversation, Megha shared her long-held desire to portray a character closer to her true personality. She spoke about breaking away from her past traditional roles and highlighted the role of Vaani as a pivotal moment in her acting career. Megha hopes that viewers will resonate deeply with this progressive storyline and celebrate Vaani as a representation of modern womanhood.
Expressing her love for the role of Vaani, Megha Chakraborty says, “When I first heard about the role, I was deeply inspired and eager to take on the character of Vaani a new-age, strong woman whom I could truly bring to life. Vaani is a modern, open-minded girl who fiercely fights for her rights, a different take from the traditional Indian woman roles I've portrayed before. Working as a fashion designer for a reputable firm, she is somebody who is driven by her dreams and a strong belief in self-empowerment. She loves to inspire others and be their guiding light, just as Vaani will be for Mishri. I hope viewers will embrace this contemporary storyline and Vaani’s character becomes a role model for many women out there!”
In the current storyline, Kalpana advises Vaani to respect Dadi's wishes, but Vaani asserts herself, siding with Parvati. During Kundali Milan at Vaani's house, Dadi disapproves of Vaani's attire, prompting her to change for Raghav's sake. Vaani discovers a monkey cap linked to Mishri's accident, but Chachi covers for Bunty. Meanwhile, Mishri marks family initials on her palm with mehendi, while suspicions grow around Chachi, Bunty, and Shakti. Later, Mishri misinterprets Raghav's gestures towards his mother. How will this misunderstanding affect Mishri's relationship with Raghav as their wedding approaches?
