KK to Sidharth Shukla, sudden celebrity deaths that left us shocked

The recent passing of Actor and Politician Sonali Phogat has left her fans and peers in shocked, the Bigg Boss 14 contestant lost her life to a cardiac arrest in Goa . However the 42-year-old is another name in the list of young celebrities who have lost their lives to heart-related ailments that have always been associated with advancing age.

While we do not know yet how much role post Covid complications are playing in worsening heart health, fitness experts and cardiologists have urged people with hectic lifestyles to minimise stress, eat healthy, stay away from alcohol and smoke, and follow a healthy routine.

Here are 10 celebs who succumbed to heart attack in recent past : 

1. KK 

Bollywood singer Krishnakumar Kunnat, popularly known as KK, tragically passed away after a heart attack post his musical concert in Nazrul Manch, Kolkata on May 31. The Khuda Jane hitmaker complained of uneasiness after he returned to his hotel and while he was immediately rushed to hospital, he couldn't survive.

2. Siddharth Shukla

The untimely death of popular Indian actor and Bigg Boss winner Sidharth Shukla is still a hard one for people to fathom. At the age of just 40, we figured that the amazingly talented star had so much to offer. Unfortunately, he passed away after reportedly suffering a massive heart attack, leaving behind his mother and two elder sisters. 

3. Raj Kaushal 

Raj Kaushal's recent passing made several headlines, the famed Indian director, producer and stunt director is best known for his work in Bollywood in the 1990s and 2000s, he was married to Bollywood actor and TV personality Mandira Bedi with whom he shared a son. He died on 30 June 2021 due to a heart attack at the age of 50.

4. Abir Goswami

Abir Goswami is best known for his work in television shows like Kkusum, Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli, Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara and Bollywood films like Lakshya, Khakee, Ugly, The Legend of Bhagat Singh, among others. He died at 37 while running on a treadmill in late May of 2013.

5. Puneeth Rajkumar 

Puneeth Rajkumar suffered heart attack while working out in gym on October 29 last year passed away leaving his friends and family in utter disbelief.

6.Deepesh Bhan

Deepesh Bhan who is known for his onscreen character 'Malkhan' in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai was playing cricket in when he collapsed and was taken to the hospital, but was declared dead.

7. Amit Mistry 

Amit Mistry was a well-known Gujarati theatre, television, and film actor best known for his roles in Bollywood films such as Shor in the City, Saat Phero Ki Hera Pherie, Dafa 420, and, most recently, Bandish Bandits. At the age of 47, he died of cardiac issues in early 2021.

8. Bramha Mishra 

Mirzapur actor Brahma Swaroop Mishra complained of chest pain two days before he was found dead in his Mumbai residence.

9. Narendra Jha

Narendra Jha, known for his work in films like Raees, Haider and Kaabil among others passed away on March 14 of a massive heart attack. He was 55. He needed rest after suffering from a minor attack a few days ago.

10. Inder Kumar

Inder Kumar, a Bollywood actor, won fans' hearts with his performances in films such as Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, Agnipath, Tumko Na Bhool Payenge, and Salman Khan's Wanted. However, the actor's life was cut short at 44 when he suffered a heart attack at his Mumbai home late at night on July 28, 2017.

Over the years, the rate of heart attacks in young people has increased double-fold. People in their 20s, 30s, and 40s are falling victim to cardiovascular attacks.

Dr Ashish Agarwal, Cardiologist, Aakash Healthcare had said, "Though very sad, the actor's death points at the larger problem of growing heart problems among the youth today. The key reasons are alcohol and smoking put together, irregular sleep, an increasing amount of stress and sedentary lifestyle that promotes less physical activity."
