I tend to dismiss my own identity to play a character on Screen : Ashutosh Rana

Disney+ Hotstar released its new family drama, an epic tale of power and revenge, Hotstar Specials’ Karm Yuddh.

Based in the city of Kolkata, the family drama revolves around the power-hungry lives of the Roys, who have dominated the economic horizon of the city for decades. It captures the quest for control over the flourishing Roy Group of Industries. Ashutosh Rana who depicts the grey character of Guru Shahstri exclusively spoke to Ashish Tiwari of First India News . 

Speaking on what is the depictual meaning of Karam Yudh he said , “We have learnt about Dharam Yudh from Mahabharat but in today’s time we see Karam Yudh. Mahabharat was a family war for the throne. So even Karam Yudh is a fight a war within the family where everyone tries to hold on to their rights on the throne. Satish Kaushik is playing Bhishm , As actors for us Karam Yudh is playing true to the character that comes upon us”

Explaining his character he mentioned, “Gurushashtri is a man of action and In real life I am very similar to it  , GuruShastri is the main mastermind behind all the actions and reactions in the story. He’s the main director of the story. He is someone with a mentality stability who works according to the situation”

He further added , “I have always lived an independent life from choosing my own name to the kind of roles I do I believe in being independent and I am grateful that Whatever character I am offered are always similar to what i need to potray on screen. It becomes easy for me as an artist. I believe in dissemination of my own identity to play a particular character on screen” 

On asking how his roles are so impactful on screen he shared ,  “ I believe in truth of the moment , life is in being present . Past is about guilt while future is about worries. So as I am in the side of life so I believe in present hence my character’s leave a mark on the audience”

He added , “I have been blessed by my guru and hence I have managed to mark a successful stint in the Industry. He’s allowed me to face all the obstacles that has come in my way all through my life “

Speaking on taking up selective roles he shared , “ Me and My wife Renuka are not part of any race , whatever we do is because of our own self and own happiness“

Having played some exceptional character driven roles Ashutosh Rana has always managed to  impress us with his movies.
