Gadar 2 actor Rohit Choudhary: Celebrating Diwali does not mean bursting crackers
Rohit Choudhary, who was seen in the film Gadar 2, won’t be celebrating Diwali this year due to a personal reason. However, he hopes that people don’t burst too many crackers on Diwali and have a safe and happy time with their families.
“Actually, I don't have any plans for Diwali this year due to some personal reasons. I neither feel like celebrating nor not celebrating festivals. This time, I just want to make the day special by spending time with my young son. The noise and air pollution caused by firecrackers during Diwali are significant, especially in places like Delhi and Mumbai where pollution levels are already high. However, I believe celebrating the festival doesn't necessarily require bursting crackers. In my opinion, spending time with loved ones – friends and family – and enjoying their company can create more joy and fulfilment,” he says.
He does not really shop much on Diwali. “On a specific Diwali or in general, when you're already capable and satisfied in every aspect, there isn't really a need for special shopping. Sometimes, we tend to buy things just because we can, but when you're content with what you have, there's nothing particularly special to purchase,” he says.
However, sweets are his weakness. “I really love sweets, but I avoid them because I'm quite health-conscious and a fitness enthusiast,” he says, adding, “This Diwali and Dhanteras, it seems like I might not stay in town. I want to be somewhere with less noise and air pollution, especially for my young son. So, I won't be available in India for a few days this year.”
