Actress Alia Bhatt recently attracted attention when she talked extensively about her husband's advice to wash off her lipstick whenever they went out and her "weird technique" for putting lipstick. That section of her interview with Vogue quickly gained popularity on social media and sparked indignation among online users. Many even expressed sympathy for the actress for being stuck with a man like her spouse, labelling her a wannabe and criticising Ranbir for his poisonous and sexist actions.

Days later, an old video of Alia reappeared on Reddit in which she is shown applying her lipstick 'normally,' as opposed to the method she used in the video, which involved moving her mouth. Immediately after the video was released on the Bolly Blinds N Gossip subreddit, users on the internet accused her of lying to make herself seem more eccentric in front of her ever-growing fan following. The video was uploaded with the caption, “Why is Alia lying about the way she puts on lipstick lol?”

Netizens quickly took to the comment section of the post to bash the 30-year-old actress. One wrote, “Wipe thadddd off! Wipe thaddd off!” Another one wrote, “To appear quirky and funny, and to come across as someone with unique personality… failing at both!” Other one wrote, “I've seen another video of her saying she puts her mouth on the lipstick and not her lipstick on the mouth, the application is haphazard but doesn't matter cuz she wipes it off anyway.” One commented, “Lol I was thinking this too. She wants to be edgy and quirky so bad.” Another commented, “I'm guessing Ranbir wasn't there with her on this trip.”
