“Sanatan is not a religion, but point of origin”: Arjun Munda hits out Udhayanidhi Stalin

New Delhi: Union Minister Arjun Munda has slammed DMK leader and Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin over his remark on Sanatan Dharma and said the comment equating religion with diseases like dengue and malaria shows the leader's “cheap mentality”.

Talking to ANI, the union minister further said that the Sanatana is not only a religion, but this is something through which one can feel about existence.
“Comparing Sanatana Dharma with the mosquitoes of dengue and malaria shows his cheap mentality. I think his mental state is like this, that is why he is giving statements like this. Sanatan is not a religion, it is the point of origin from which we can realize our existence-- the realization and acknowledgement of our existence. The politician who has given this statement does not know how he came into existence,” Munda said.

Calling the remark of the son of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin “unfortunate”, the union minister, “There is eternal nature, earth, sky, earth, which does not come under the ambit of any religion. It is a comprehensive form of understanding life, and how we have been created. If he is talking about ending it, then I understand that he is talking about destroying the earth. It is unfortunate to make such a statement.”

Udhayanidhi Stalin, earlier on September 2 called for the 'eradication’ of the Sanatan Dharma and equated it with diseases like dengue and malaria, inviting sharp criticism from BJP leaders.

DMK leader Stalin has come under severe criticism since he mentioned on Saturday that Sanatan Dharma should not merely be opposed but “eradicated”.
However, unfazed by attacks from various leaders, Tamil Nadu Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development Udhayanidhi Stalin on Monday said that he would repeat the same thing again as he has included all religions and not just Hindus.
"The day before yesterday I spoke at a function about it (Sanatana Dharma). Whatever I said, I'll repeat the same thing again and again. I included all the religions and not just Hindus. I condemned caste differences, that's all," Udhayanidhi Stalin said.
