Kalki 2898 AD director Nag Ashwin Reflects on a Decade-Long Journey with Priyanka and Swapna Dutt

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Kalki 2898 AD director Nag Ashwin shared a nostalgic post on his decade-long journey in the film industry with co-producers Priyanka and Swapna Dutt. The post, included a photo of the trio, highlighting their efforts, struggles, and achievements.

Ashwin's post began with remembering their debut feature film ‘Yevade,’ which they embarked on together ten years ago. He recalled how Vyjayanthi, their production company, was at a low point, and the project was risky. A memory that stood out for Ashwin was a rainy day on set, which halted the shoot and led to unplanned extra costs, causing panic and distress. In hindsight, Ashwin noted, those costs seemed small compared to the larger picture of their journey.

“From that to this... 10 years later...every movie we have made together is not just successful at the box office, but a small milestone in film history, in its own way," Ashwin wrote, expressing pride and gratitude for their accomplishments.

Ashwin's post also highlighted the deep bond and respect between the trio. He expressed his gratitude for what he described as "impossible things" they have managed to pull off together. The post concluded on a note of humility and hope, "For now, just Gratitude 🙏🧿" he wrote. 

Their latest film, Kalki 2898 AD has been a significant addition in their journey. The film's success is evident in its impressive box office numbers, having collected more than 115 crores in Hindi in India in 4 days and 415 crores globally within 3 days. The movie, starring a stellar cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Disha Pathani has won the hearts of audiences.
