The story unfolds with Yami Gautam stepping into the role of Zooni Haskar, an intelligence agent, a devot patriot who wishes to wipe off terrorism. Zooni is on a mission to acquire information about terrorist Burhan Vani but ends up killing him which gets her suspended from her position as an Intelligence Agent. The plot takes an intriguing turn when PMO Bureaucrat Rajeshwari Swaminathan, portrayed by Priya Mani, offers Zooni to join National Intelligence Agency (NIA). Initially reluctant, Zooni agrees under the condition that she gets her own team for the operation. This sets the stage for a narrative that goes beyond the surface, delving into the intricate web of historical events and political decisions.

As the film progresses, it not only captures the intensity of Zooni's mission but also unfolds a broader narrative around the historical and political dimensions of the Kashmir issue. The filmmakers provide a glimpse into the Pulwama attack, a tragic event that shook the nation, and the subsequent efforts to revoke Article 370. The film skillfully navigates through the complexities of political compromises, shedding light on the struggles and challenges faced in altering the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. It doesn't shy away from questioning historical decisions, particularly critiquing Jawaharlal Nehru's inability to make firm choices on the Kashmir matter, contributing to a lasting struggle for the nation.

Aditya Jambhale's direction deserves commendation for effectively capturing the historical and contemporary elements of the story.
